Applying to Study in China
There are several ways to apply to study in China. If your university in your home country has a partnership with a Chinese institution, it’s usually simple to apply through your home school. This can be relatively hassle-free but does have disadvantages.
Your choices are extremely limited. You can only choose from the schools your university is partnered with and this may not provide the program and quality of education you’re looking for. If you’re not currently enrolled in a university, this option isn’t available.
Another option for studying abroad is to directly contact schools and universities in China and apply yourself. This way it’s possible to choose exactly where you want to go without being limited by what your school at home can provide.
However, many educational institutes in China do not have well-designed English-language websites. Foreigners studying in China, either in degree or non-degree programs, are still a relatively new, so the information you’re looking for might simply be unavailable. In addition, applying to a Chinese school from overseas can be difficult and time-consuming and students rarely receive the type of individual support they want when applying on their own.
