China’s science and technology sector is advancing at a rapid pace. China is no longer limited to producing cheap products: the country is emerging as a center for technological research and innovation. From aeronautics to computer engineering to medicine, there has never been a better time to study science and technology in China.
China has numerous English-language programs centering on science, technology and medicine. Program prices are extremely competitive compared to many other countries, and some of China's world-class institutions actively recruit overseas students.
Engineering
China’s emerging engineering institutes are poised to become some of the best in the world. Classes in material and civil engineering programs at schools like Tsinghua University and Wuhan University provide a first-rate education at a relatively low price. Beihang University in Beijing is China’s premier aeronautical engineering institute. Engineering is one of China’s most rapidly improving sectors and the country produces over half a million engineering graduates every year, more than anywhere else in the world.
Medicine
The cost of a medical education in China is extremely low compared to other high-quality programs abroad. English-language MBBS degree programs allow overseas students to gain a solid grounding in medicine and open the door to further studies and a medical practice. Institutions like Fudan University and Shanghai Jiaotong University are examples of China's premier medical schools. English-language dental programs are also available.
Computer Science
China’s computer science and IT industry is growing at a rapid pace. Students studying in Chinese universities go on to work in international IT companies like Lenovo and receive an education that can be used anywhere in the world. An IT degree from a world-class Chinese institution is an excellent career investment and costs much less than a similar degree from North America, Europe or elsewhere.
