Interview Record: HuaZhong university of Science and Technology

Host: Can you please introduce us the details about your school including the colleges and classes.

Zhao XiaoPeng: Huazhong University of Science and Technology is considered as one of the top 10 universities in China. We have 11 categories of professional, including 78 undergraduate courses, 253 master degree courses, 178 doctorate courses where all of these professions are open to foreign students.

Host: We all know that Huazhong University of Science has excellent subjects, such as medicine, engineering and science. Can you also introduce to us your school’s MBBS or what we refer to as the Clinical Medicine? 

Zhao XiaoPeng: Tongji Medical College is considered as one of the oldest hospital which later has affliated to the university as one of the colleges. This hospital has a history of over 100 years. By the year 2007, the college started MBBS taught in English which attracted many people. One must have a highschool diploma, has taken A-level exam which got a grade above 70% to be able to take MBBS course. It takes atleast 6years to finish the degree including a year of internship at one of our hospitals. Aside from MBBS, our engineering courses are also very good. We are equipped with all the latest and necessary facilities. We also courses teach in English especially electronics and information engineering course.
 

Host: Let’s discuss about the situation regarding the admission of international students.

Zhao XiaoPeng: Actually, we’re really glad that theres more and more international students that enrol in our university. Despite the economic crisis all over the world, the admission for foreign sutdents has increased. Scholarship is open for anyone who wants to apply for it. We also have a student organization called SICA for both Chinese and foreign students. They conduct various activities to help students in a lot of ways.

Host: What about the studying environment and living conditions in the university?

Zhao XiaoPeng: The University covers a wide area that provides students with great view and comfortable places to study. We also have dormitories, either a single or double room. Our office for international students also offers tutorial and other services which may help foreigners to feel more like home.
