Organized by the Thai Ministry of Commerce Export Promotion Department, the Thailand International Education Exhibition took place at Bangkok”s Queen Sirikit National Convention Center on October 11th. China, America, Canada, Singapore, Australia and more than 160 local Educational Institutions in Thailand participated in this event.
According to preliminary statistics, the exhibition received about a thousand people from all over Thailand and also visitors from nearby countries such as Bangladesh and Vietnam.
Chinese Educational Institution received the participants’ enthusiastic support. Reporters on the show stated that a web site forum from China—China’s University and College Admission System (www.cucas.edu.cn) were flooded by Thai students and parents. Staff constantly answered one question after another; guided the students in filling out the application form; distributed information about studying in China. Students as well as parents communicated with the staff using Thai, English and a little Mandarin.

According to reports, the website is currently China's only multi-lingual online application website designed for students who want to study in China. There are already more than 150 schools and universities such as Beijing Language and Culture University that use their internal management system. The website also offers a free “one-stop” service for the students.
A woman named Pattama told a reporter that after she became aware of the network service Chiwest offers, she just had to take her sister with her. Due to their frequent business travel to Guangzhou and Bangkok, they very much want their children to learn Chinese as well as to understand Chinese culture so that they will be prepared to inherit and continue the family business. They particularly want their children to study high school in Guangzhou and also to finish college in China. And because they are not familiar with all the good schools and universities in China that may be suited for their children as well as the application, Chiwest was a big help for them to decide where to send their children.
Zheng Lili, a Thai Chinese student, aside from helping her brother take up IT in China, she herself wants to take her MBA in China and at the same time, learn Chinese。In Thailand, whether or not one can speak Chinese often determines whether a college graduate can get a decent salary. That is why her greatest desire is to use the experience she can get in China to do business with Chinese companies in the future.
According to China’s statistics, there are approximately 8,000 Thai students currently studying in China. While according to Thailand official statistics, there are about 600,000 Thai people at present learning Chinese in various forms. Aside from familiarizing the school by yourself or with the help of friends and relatives, China and Thailand exchange and cooperation projects are also important.
It is reported that during the three-day exhibition, China received a total network of more than 2000 times the consultation; nearly 1000 people have left contact details and their intention to study in China, hoping that Chiwest could arrange their application plan.

The person in charge of Chiwest told the participants that they have plans to set up a representative office in Thailand and other places to provide the students with the study advisory service. In addition to this, they will also strengthen Beijing’s College District "China Education Information Center" ground services that include the enrollment registration, school transfer, career counseling and other comprehensive services.
