In order to give our students a more impressed welcome, at August, besides the welcome dinner we added a short trip at some representative places in Beijing, Qianmen, Dashilar and Liulichang.
The trip was occasionally held on the same day of the “Autumn Begin” in Chinese traditional lunar calendar. On that day, Chinese people are supposed to eat more meat to save more fat for the upcoming frozen winter, which is called
(Tie Qiu Biao).

Rebekah applied to study at BLCU, but this is not her first time in Beijing. She once studied at Beijing Normal University at high school. ‘Chinese is easier than French’, she said.
Qianmen (pinyin: Qiánmén) or called Zhengyangmen, one of nine gates in Beijing's historic inner city wall. It’s located to the south of Tiananmen Square and once was a prosperous shopping place in Ming and Qing dynasties.

Ignacio (the man carrying a little girl on his shoulder) is studying at Beijing Normal University for Chinese course. Actually, he is studying for his PHD on culture. This experienced Argentine family once lived and studied in Mexico, the U.S. and China is one of their stops. The photo taken at Dashilar street, the old shopping street in Qing dynasty, and there are still many century standing shops.

At Liulichang (pinyin: Liúlíchǎng) street, which is known for a series of traditional Chinese stone dwellings housing that sells various craftwork, artistry, and antiques. It is one of Beijing's traditional old quarters.
