The registration procedures for intensive Chinese studies is much easier than that of the Long-term Chinese program, which can be divided into 3 steps: 1. Pay tuition 2. Pay insurance (expect for students studying for 12 weeks) 3. Get a student card.

Although a much easier registration procedure, students also needed to provide an accommodation letter (Temporary Residence Permit) to prove their arrival. Most of problems arose due to students' lack of the permit, so make sure you take yours with you when you register at a Chinese university. If you stay in a university dormitory, hostel or hotel, you should be given one by the receptionist when you check in. If you rent an apartment or stay with a friend, you will need to go the local police station with the landlord to register.
