For example, Chengdu, Xi'an,Chongqing, Changsha, Wuhan,Zhengzhou, and other cities all have beautiful scenery, long history and there are many excellent universities. The transportation is also very convenient. If you don't have a large budget, you can choose those cities' universities.

You can check the annual ranking of all the universities in China or you can also refer to universities list of "Project 985" and university list of "Project 211".

4.University Characteristics and Strong Points

If you have a particular major that you want to study, you can choose according to the universities' expertise. For example, the Beijing Language and Culture University can be referred to as the earliest, the best, and most professional university that deals with foreign students. Every year, a lot of foreign students attend this university to study language and culture courses. Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou and other big cities all have Chinese language schools that teaches foreign students. The syllabus in these language schools can be customized; the enrollment procedures are simple; and it's relatively easy to apply for admission. If you want to come to China to study medicine, you can choose a university that offers MBBS courses taught in English.

5.Fellow citizens

Applicants may choose to apply to a university where you have more fellow citizens. This may help you to adapt faster to the environment. Or you can do the opposite and apply to a university that doesn't have that many fellow citizens. This may reduce the chance for you to speak your own language and improve your Chinese in return.
