Since its inception, Langfang Teachers College has undergone stages of Anci Country Primary Teachers’ School in 1946, Secondary Teachers’ School in 1964, and provincial Advanced Undergraduate Teachers’ College in 2000 approved by the Ministry of Education. In 2005, it had merger with Hebei Vocational & Technical College, approved by the provincial government. The new college is located in Langfang, the pearl of corridor between Beijing and Tianjin. Located in the Bo Sea Economic Rim and enclosed in the Big Beijing economic cycle, Langfang benefits from its significant location advantage and gestates unlimited opportunities. Moreover, as an emerging eco-garden and modern city, Langfang possesses beautiful environment and delightful ecology. During the 60 years of development, Langfang Teachers College has accumulated a profound cultural heritage, formed distinctive school-running features, and created a graceful campus environment.
It has two-campus college running. Covering a total construction area of over 2000 mu, it has schoolhouse construction area of nearly 40 million square meters; owning 3.5 billion RMB fixed assets, it has value of 76.86 million RMB teaching equipment and 133 million copies of library collection. There are 19480 full-time college students, and 1437 teaching staff, including 880 full-time teachers. The College has 14 schools, 16 administrative institutions and 3 teaching auxiliary units. There are a total of 34 undergraduate majors, 58 specialized professionals, covering 8 disciplines—Literature, Science, Engineering, Economics, Management, Law, History and Pedagogy.
The college adheres to the quality of teaching as the uppermost, and insists on the sustainable development strategy. It strengthens three functions—talent cultivation, scientific research and social services to consolidate its comprehensive strength and to make contribution towards the provincial economic development and social progress. In recent years, it has actively carried out international exchange and cooperation, has enrolled students nationwide from twenty provinces and cities, and has cooperated with many foreign universities. It has remarkable teaching achievements in mathematical modeling competition, electronic design contest, science and technology innovation contest, English speech contest, sports games, etc; scores in CET4, CET6 and NCRE are higher than the average level of similar institutions in the entire province. Moreover, most graduates engaged in various industries obtain employment in economically developed areas, such as Beijing, Tianjin and Bo Sea Economic Rim, etc. Meanwhile, it attaches great importance to construction of morality and campus spiritual civilization, and has been awarded advanced unit and advanced collective respectively by Langfang municipal government, by Hebei provincial department of education and by CPC Central Committee for many years.
The college sticks to having a foothold on Langfang, taking advantage of Beijing and Tianjin, offering service to Hebei, and opening the door to the country. It is vigorously taking efforts to forge ahead for multidisciplinary, multi-level, open, distinctive and comprehensive university.
