Mudanjiang University was established in 1983, an institution of higher education approved by Ministry of Education P.R.C. It is located in the tourism city, Mudanjiang, which owns the fertile land, well-protected vegetation and beautiful scenery.
The university owns the value of 280 million yuan in fixed assets. The campus covers an area of 382, 000 sq. m. and the construction area is 160, 000 sq. m. It has developed teaching facilities and good learning environment. The first phase of newly-built practical training base was finished and the base has been in use since September 2011 in Hailin. Now, there are more than 100 modern practical training labs and rooms, such as the center of engineering practice, mechanical lathe processing rooms, studio, electricity driver training room, information security storage labs, imitate accountant labs, Jindie ERP lab, animation studios, film and TV studios, multi-media computer rooms. Moreover, there are some special classrooms and places of leisure and exercise, such as band concert hall, dance rehearsal rooms, piano rooms, gym, yoga rooms, Ping Pong rooms, etc..
The number of teaching and administrative staff is 585. There are 38 professors, 156 associate professors, 77 doctor’s degree and master’s degree holders , 5 foreign teachers, two “Heilongjiang Outstanding Teacher”. Meanwhile, there are 5 “Heilongjiang Quality Course” and one “Heilongjiang Excellent Teaching Team”.
There are 60 majors belonging to School of Foreign Languages, School of Trade and Management, School of Accounting and Finance, School of Information and Electrical Engineering, School of Mechanical Engineering, School of Bio-pharmacy and Foodstuff Engineering, School of Arts and Media, School of Civil Engineering, School of Animation, School of Photovoltaic, School of Continuing Education. The university also includes Social Science Dept. and P.E. Dept. . Totally, there are 8041 students and 3169 part-time students.
