Introduction of Shandong University of Finance and Economics

    Shandong University of Finance and Economics (SDUFE), located in Ji’nan, was established on July 4th, 2011 by combining Shandong Economic University and Shandong University of Finance. Shandong Economic University was established in 1952 as Shandong Institute of Finance and Economics, which was the earliest college in finance and economics in Shandong province, and one of the earliest in China. Shandong University of Finance was established in 1986 jointly by the Ministry of Finance of China and the provincial government of Shandong province. In August 2012, Ministry of Finance, Ministry of Education, Shandong Provincial Government signed the agreement to support the development of SDUFE. In July 2013, SDUFE was entitled to initiate Ph.D. Programs.
    SDUFE is constituted of 4 campuses, and consists of 21 schools covering 62 undergraduate programs. SDUFE currently has over 1,900 teachers, among which more than 900 are professors and associate professors. SDUFE has an enrollment of 33,000 full-time students, including about 31,000 undergraduates and 2,100 postgraduates. SDUFE offers the doctoral degree of 3 first-grade discipline in applied economics, business administration, management science and engineering; and the master degree of 10 first-grade discipline (covering 73 secondary disciplines), 11 professional master degree programs, like MBA, MPA, etc. SDUFE has grown into an international, multi-disciplinary key university covering humanities, law, science engineering, art and education, while focusing on economics and management.
    The two journals, Review of Economy and Management and Journal of Shandong University of Finance and Economics, belong to the core journals of Chinese humanity and social science.
    SDUFE is involved in international cooperation, academic exchange and research, joint programs, dual degree programs, articulation programs with more than 100 overseas universities and institutions from USA, Canada, Britain, Australia, France, Germany, Czech, New Zealand, and elsewhere for both students and academic staff. More than 80 foreign teachers and experts are employed annually. SDUFE was permitted to admit international students in 1993. At present SDUFE has language students, degree students and exchange students from USA, France, Holland, Czech, South Korea and elsewhere. In 1998, SDUFE established and then has subsequently been followed with joint programs with Edinburgh Napier University, Unitec Institute of Technology, and Dalhousie University. The students overseas study programs, like exchange programs, scholarship programs, dual degree programs, study tour programs are being done with University of Minnesota, University of California-Irvine, University of Rennes 1, University of Economics, Prague, and others, and more than 500 students are given a chance to further their study in these well-known universities annually.
