MBBS Programs Open in Spring 2010

Jiangsu University (UJS), Central South University (CSU) and Xi'an Jiaotong University (XJTU) offer MBBS programs starting in spring semester.

Jiangsu University (UJS), with a school-running history of one hundred years, situated in a beautiful and well-known historic and cultural city on the southern bank of the Yangtze River - Zhenjiang. As a comprehensive university featuring science and engineering and with teaching and research work equally emphasized, at present, there are nine major disciplines covering engineering, science, medicine, social science, economics, law, administration, history and education. The program MBBS (Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery in English) in UJS opens in early March, 2010.

Central South University (CSU) is situated in Changsha, a famous historic and cultural city in central south China. It's a comprehensive and national key university under the direct administration of the Ministry of Education. CSU is among the first universities that entered the national key construction “211 Project” and ministry- province key construction “985 Project”. The fields of study at CSU cover 10 branches of learning, and the field of medical studies have undergone various stages of development. To meet intertionals students's study need, Clinical Medicine (MBBS in English) opens on March 1st, 2010 at CSU.

Xi'an Jiaotong University (XJTU), located in Xi'an, the city represents ancient China, is one of the best universities of China. It has attracted the attention of a large number of international students, drawing nearly 1000 each year. The School of Medicine of Xi'an Jiaotong University, which used to be the School of Medicine of National Peking University, founded in 1937. In 1995, former Xi'an Medical University established the Program of Clinical Medicine for International Students, began to enroll qualified international students, aiming to produce clinicians and doctors served in clinics and hospitals. Currently, nearly 500 international students from Pakistan, Nepal, Canada, Iran, Sudan and other countries are studying in Xi'an Jiaotong University, School of Medicine.

The basic or degree level qualification for a medical profession is Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery which is of 6 years (including one or half a year internship) duration.

There is great scope for medicine as a professional career after graduation of MBBS program. Job opportunities include employment in government or private hospitals, Defence Services, Nursing homes, Poly- clinics, Research and Health centers, Medical colleges etc. There is also scope to do your own practice while being visiting specialists at various hospitals or visiting faculty at Medical colleges.
