
Baise University, approved by the Ministry of Education of China, is a full-time public undergraduate institution located in Baise City-a central hub at the intersection of Yunnan, Guizhou, and Guangxi provinces (regions). Established in 1938, the university boasts an 88-year history and stands as the only comprehensive public undergraduate institution in Baise City. Nestled in a region renowned for convenient transportation, rich cultural heritage, and picturesque landscapes, Baise City is celebrated for its diverse ethnic customs, abundant tourism resources, and recognition as one of China's Outstanding Tourism Cities. It is just 1 hour and 20 minutes by high-speed rail from Nanning, the capital of Guangxi.
Baise University is among Guangxi's first four pilot universities designated for comprehensive transformation and development. It has gained approval to develop master's degree programs and houses a national-level maker space. The university spans two campuses (Donghe and Chengbi) across 1,833.22 mu(approximately 122.2 hectares), with a total floor area of 511,800 square meters. It employs 1,600 permanent faculty members and enrolls 23,164 full-time students. The university comprises 17 academic schools offering 57undergraduate programs, which cover 10 major disciplines: Economics, Law, Education, Literature, Natural Sciences, Engineering, Agriculture, Management, Arts, and History, reflecting its multidisciplinary educational framework.
In 2002, the university gained the qualification to enroll international students. In 2014, BU began to enroll both degree-seeking and non-degree-seeking international students. So far, it has trained over 300 international students from ASEAN countries such as Thailand, Laos, Vietnam, Cambodia, as well as African countries like Cameroon, Ghana, and Ethiopia, and 39 exchange students.
