Guizhou Communications Polytechnic University(GCPU) is a public undergraduate-level institution that specializes in engineering, with a particular emphasis on transportation. GCPU was established in 1958 and currently has over 13,000 students 11 teaching departments, and more than 30 undergraduate and vocational majors, including 7 national key majors.
GCPU is dedicated to training talents in modern comprehensive transportation systems, with a particular focus on two national high-level professional groups: road and bridge engineering technology, and automobile application and maintenance technology (intelligent transportation in western mountainous areas). GCPU library has a collection of nearly 2 million books, and has established 19 national-level courses. Furthermore, GCPU has 15 provincial-level or higher industry-education integration bases, collaborative innovation centers, engineering research centers, and key laboratories.
Additionally, GCPU has 195 integrated teaching and production (operation) training bases on campus, including the Wolongshan Mountain tunnel, Kunpeng training bridge, karst mountain road intelligent transportation virtual simulation training center, transportation civil engineering open training base, smart transportation industry-education integration training base, intelligent connected virtual simulation center, green transportation electromechanical
application technology center, and intelligent connected vehicle training base. Moreover, GCPU has 133 off-campus internship bases. GCPU school offers students a comprehensive platform for holistic development and personal growth. It boasts eleven educational facilities, including the Guizhou Transportation Museum and Education Hall, as well as the Thousand Islands Culture and Art Museum, which showcase the rich history of transportation and cultural diversity of ethnic groups in Guizhou.
The flower planting and labor education bases provide students with an opportunity to work. The stage, sports field, and campus roads serve as practical classrooms. The Tongtu Innovation Park and Maker Space unleash innovative potential, igniting the spark of creativity. Moreover, GCPU offers over 30 clubs, such as the Science and Technology Club and the Art Troupe, to help students pursue their passions.
