With distinct four seasons, North Henan Medical University is located in Xinxiang, northern Henan Province, only away from Zhengzhou, the capital of Henan Province for over severalmiles, also faces the ancient capital of Kaifeng across the river. Formerly known as Sanquan Medical College(established in 2003), it was restructured into North Henan Medical University in February 2025 with approval from the Ministry of Education of China. The university currently has two campuses,the Xinxiang Campus and the Pingyuan Campus,covering an area of more than 2,000 mu(equivalent to approximately 133 hectares). There are currently more than 23,000 full-time students and more than 1,400 faculty members.To build a new medical college and university which is the domestic first-class ,regional leading one with local high level, characteristics, application-oriented features. The school undertakes 25 undergraduate programs across 5 disciplines of Medicine, Management, Science, Engineering and Arts, and has educated more than 68 thousand outstanding medical students.The university is a master's degree awarding key projecttraining unit, supported by the National Natural Science Foundation of China. It has 3 provincial key disciplines, 3 provincial first-class undergraduate major construction points, 7 provincial brand major construction points of private colleges and universities, 9 provincial private ordinary colleges and universities subject professional funding projects,1 provincial private ordinary colleges and universities featuring development project, 4 provincial professional comprehensive reform pilot project, 8 national special majors. There are 2 provincial experimental teaching demonstration centers, 2 productive teaching workshops and 8 practical training centers. The school has 5 afiliated hospitals, among which the Nanshi Hospital of Nanyang is a Class A tertiary hospital, which is the National Base for Stroke Screening and Prevention, the National Chest Pain Center, and the Standardized Training Base for Resident Doctors.

In terms of international development,the university has established friendly cooperativereations with 25 overseas universities or scientific institution from 12 countries,includingAmerica,Britain and Italy etc.Meantime,the university was granted the qualification ofrecruiting foreign teachers in 2015.In 2017,it was approved to recruit internationalstudents,becoming the first independent college in the country to have this qualification.NHMU made its way into the World Directory of Medical Schools(WDMS)of WHO in2018,and embarked on recruiting international students in the same year.Afterwards,itsChinese-Foreign Cooperative Nursing program was approved in 2019 to admit Chinesestudents,followed by another joint program with University of Bedfordshire of the UK in2020.The same year then witnessed NHMU's joining into the World Higher EducationDatabase of the International Association of Universities(IAU)supported by the UnitedNations Educational,Scientific and Cultural Organization(UNESCO).In 2021,theuniversity obtained certification from the Council for the Education of Foreign MedicalGraduates(ECFMG);In 2024,successfullyjoined into the "the Belt and Road"internationalmedical education cooperation platform.Till to now,more than 190 students from 19countries including India,Indonesia,Tanzania,and Ghana have come to study at the university.

In 2024, according to the ranking of independent colleges of private universities in China, Wushulian ranked sixth in the comprehensive strength of 145 independent colleges nationwide and first among 21 medical independent colleges nationwide; The quality of employment, the quality of new students, the rate of enrollment, and the evaluation level are all rated as A or A-level.
