Zhejiang International Studies University (ZISU for short) was founded in 1955, is a public university located in Hangzhou, the capital city of Zhejiang Province. Ever since 2010, ZISU is making effort to develop international education, offering bachelor programs, non-degree programs, exchange programs and internship programs to international students from all over the world. To meet different needs of students, ZISU is now developing more degree programs in English, stratification and mini-class teaching as well. Meanwhile, ZISU emphasizes extracurricular activities and culture courses，such as "Exploring the Beauty of Zhejiang" and "Heshan Interview" so as to develop the international students into talents with profound knowledge, solid skills as well as deep understanding of Chinese culture and current situation. Nowadays, ZISU has deep cooperation with Peking University, more and more students are eager to studying in ZISU. In 2024, with support from the provincial government, the school is deepenning its cooperation with Peking University and embark on a new journey of international education.

The school has 13 teaching institutions and 36 undergraduate majors, including 16 foreign language majors, involving 14 foreign languages (English, Japanese, Spanish, French, Arabic, Italian, Portuguese, Russian, Korean, German, Czech, Turkish, Polish, Vietnamese). Seven majors including English, primary education, Arabic, translation, tourism management, business English, and Russian are national first-class undergraduate major construction sites, ranking among the top among similar newly established undergraduate colleges in the province; In 2024, the school officially became a master's degree granting institution and was approved as a first level discipline master's program in International and regional studies, as well as two professional master's programs in education and translation.
