- Hangzhou Normal University was first authorized to enroll overseas students in 1993 and became one of the first 5 institutions of higher learning within the province that was authorized to enroll and train overseas students.
- The School is situated on Cangqian Campus which offers a picturesque environment for easy communication and accommodation. The teaching building covering over 2000 sq meters can hold almost 200 overseas students to study within. Li Yuan, the dorm for overseas students, equipped with sophisticated facilities provides rooms for over 200 overseas students.
- Since 1993, overseas students from USA, Japan, Korea, Australia, Israel, France, Luxemburg, Mexico, Mauritania, Singapore, Thailand, Indonesia, Vietnam, etc. have come to HNU to study Chinese language, fine arts, music and other majors.

- ZUST offers 2 English-taught master’s degree programs such as national-level key majors --Civil Engineering and Chemical Engineering and Technique. It also offers one Chinese-taught Master’s degree program--Master of Teaching Chinese to Speakers of Other Languages (MTCSOL). Students can be enrolled without any Chinese language entry requirements.
- ZUST also offers Chinese training programs, which could be for different terms, and also Summer Study Tour programs.

CUZ is a high-level media university with distinctive broadcast industrial characteristics, which was jointly established by Zhejiang Provincial People's Government and the State Administration of Radio and Television (SARFT). on September 8, 2004, Comrade Xi Jinping, the then Secretary of the Party Committee of Zhejiang Province, visited CUZ and put forward his earnest hope of "keeping abreast of the times and highlighting the special characteristics". Its former Zhejiang Radio and Television School founded in 1978 and Zhejiang Radio and Television College founded in 1984 were merged to form the new Zhejiang Radio and Television Higher College in 2000, which was upgraded to Zhejiang University of Media and Communication (ZUMC) in 2004 and later the current CUZ, and was approved as a master's degree-granting unit in 2021. It has been honored with the titles of National Party Member Education and Training Demonstration Base and National Graduate Employment Typical Experienced Colleges and Universities.
