    Approved by Beijing Municipal Education Commission and Beijing Civil Affairs Bureau, the first professional educational institution devoted to international promotion of Chinese language, Beijing International Chinese College (BICC) was founded in September, 2005, to adapt to the economic globalization and diversified development of world culture, to meet the needs of China’s further opening up to the outside world and communicate widely with various countries.
    BICC possesses a team of highly skilled full-time and part-time teachers of whom 95 percent have Bachelor’s degree or above, 75 percent are sub-senior or senior professionals. BICC’s part time teachers are renowned experts, professors or subject leaders of established universities, education institutions, primary and secondary schools. They all have lots of teaching experience and many have taught Chinese abroad.
    Since its foundation, BICC has achieved the qualification of enrolling International students, organizing training program for visiting teachers from abroad under the authorization of Hanban, and holding various kinds of tests, such as TCFL, HSK, BCT, YCT, and BETS. To date, BICC has totally trained 600 teachers both from China and abroad, enrolled 200 international students and about 2000 examinees took exams. Moreover, BICC has organized a series of important training seminars and R&D projects entrusted by the Ministry of Commerce, Hanban, Beijing Municipal Education Commission and Beijing Municipal Science and Technology Commission.
    BICC is currently in cooperation with many schools, educational institutions and established enterprises in America, Spain, Italy, France, New Zealand, Korea and etc. BICC is gradually developing into a one-off and top-notch Chinese learning and teaching base.

Private Studio

Located in some of the best apartment complexes in Beijing, approximately 10 minutes from the city centre, purpose built, studio style accommodation, with wooden floors throughout.

The apartment complex is located approximately 10 minutes walk from the subway station and school, providing easy access to the city centre.

Studio room can be let for single or double occupancy, on a weekly, monthly or semester basis. All rooms are en suite. Bathrooms are tiled and have a toilet, wash-hand basin and power shower.

There is an iron and ironing board in each studio.

A laundry service is available on request.

Each studio room contains:

Dormitory

Our dorms are dynamic learning laboratories that complement the academic experience. Our most important goal is to make student learn Chinese in the best possible way. This is accomplished through ongoing educational programming, individual counseling and mentoring, and a variety of leadership opportunities.

Although living on campus is vastly different from home, we strive to provide a supportive and comfortable setting. Residents are encouraged to personalize their rooms with favorite items from home. Laundry, storage and lounge areas are available on each dorm floor. Access to the campus network and Internet is available in every student room and wireless ports are located in most common areas.

Social activities are regularly scheduled. Enjoy pizza parties, community gatherings, cookouts, sports tournaments, holiday celebrations, movie nights, contests, service projects etc.

Every dorm room has :

Shared apartment

Spacious, bright and sunny 2 bed apartment featuring all modern conveniences and approx 15-30 mins away from the school using public transportation. Available only to BICC students so you will be living in a safe and secure location with 1 or 2 other adult student, also attending the school. You will have your own private bedroom. You will share the bathroom and kitchen/living room areas only.

Room Lay Out :

• Bedroom One: Double bed, set of bed linen and double duvet, built in wardrobe, chest of drawers, lamp, mirror etc.
• Bedroom Two: Double bed, set of bed linen and double duvet, built in wardrobe, chest of drawers, lamp, mirror etc.
• Bathroom: Shower, bath, toilet, wash basin and litter bin. Bath towels and hand towels are supplied.
• Living Area: Open-plan living area with two sofas. Includes coffee table, television, wooden floors, spot lighting etc.
• Dining Area: Open-plan dining area with circular dining table and 4 chairs.
• Kitchen: Fully fitted kitchen with electric oven, hob and extractor fan, fridge freezer, washing machine, electric kettle, toaster and microwave. Four sets of cutlery and crockery are provided. There is also a clothes horse for airing clothes, iron and ironing board, mop and a sweeping brush.

Homestay

We have carefully selected each of our host families to ensure excellent standards with good food and comfortable accommodation.

Host families are familiar with taking adult students, so you will have the freedom to come and go as you choose. Most importantly, you will feel welcome in the family home and practice Chinese throughout your stay.

The average travel time to and from the school is 20 minutes. You can purchase a travel pass for the bus & train. You will receive information about this on your first day of school.

The host family will provide half board accommodation i.e. breakfast and evening meal. If you have any special dietary requirements, you should inform us of this before you arrive so we can select the most suitable family for you.

You can choose to have your own single bedroom or share with another student, just let us know your requirements at the time of booking. The family will provide a fresh set of towels each week and change the bed linen once per week. The family will also include your basic laundry items, such as, jeans, tee-shirts etc. once per week.

We also guarantee that there will be no more than one nationality per family (one Chinese speaker, One French speaker etc.) so you should not be tempted to speak your own language whilst staying with the host family !

You will be advised of your host family address and details before your arrival in Beijing. You can arrive on either a Saturday or Sunday and Depart also on a Saturday or Sunday. Check with us first, should you wish to arrive on a week day.

Hotel

Students also have the option of living in a three or four star hotel in Beijing's CBD or Haidian district depending on which campus students selects to learn Chinese. Each room is fully equipped with modern furniture, bed, private bathroom, fridge, satellite TV, air conditioning, and a telephone (IDD and ISD). Hotels are selected based on proximity to BICC, and are generally within a five to fifteen minute walk to the school. Hotel accommodation is only recommended for students studying Chinese in Beijing for a short period of time.
